Be A Part of Our First Time

Starting a theatre company is a lot of work. Yet it doesn't feel like work when you are passionate about what you're doing and you are working with people whose love of theatre is equal to yours.

As you know, our first challenge was to find a venue. A couple months ago, we thought that we had found one. Almost as quickly as that venue had materialized, however, it disappeared. While it was a bit of a blow at first, we were undaunted and forged on, exploring options that would work for TheStage Rep and our vision. Who knew that a cup of coffee on a sunny Saturday afternoon would find us crossing paths with Stephen Snow, the Artistic Director of The Palace Theater in Danbury? Call it divine artistic intervention, or whatever you wish, but TheStage Rep is over the moon about the relationship being built between our company and The Palace.

Our first production, appropriately entitled My First Time, is a comedy by Ken Davenport and recounts first sexual experiences as shared anonymously on the Internet. In keeping with our mission, TheStage Rep is excited to be offering this contemporary piece of theatre as the Danbury community's first taste of what we will be producing. The show will be presented one night only on Saturday, May 15th.

So, the 2010 planning continues as we work on securing the rights and confirming the dates for our shows. Once the full season is confirmed, which should be very shortly, announcements will be made. The one thing you can count on, however, is that in 2010 you can expect to see live theatre like you've never seen before, right in downtown Danbury.

It is only the beginning...
